Abby Seamans

Hi. My name is Abby Seamans. I’m originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast but found my way to the Space Coast in 2017. I met my best friend and husband, Bob, here. Together we have a blended family of 4 boys and a menagerie of pets.

I’m a lifelong professional artist. I’ve been a painter for as long as I can remember, and most recently have become a potter in the footsteps of my Mama. (As a hobby, I was/am also a board-certified RN for 20 years.)
Tim taught me pottery with patience and kindness and continues to teach me to this day. I’m not sure there is a day that passes that I don’t have a question or learn something new about clay! It’s really a medium that never stops expanding for me.

My personal art is heavily influenced by the coastal landscapes by which I’ve always lived. I also find myself drawn to asymmetrical shapes and whimsical designs in carving and sculpture.

I’m currently teaching group and private lessons. I enjoy teaching children (and “un-teaching”) adults that there is no “correct” way to create art. I want to help each student embrace their own unique artistic voice because I’m grateful for the lessons my exceptionally creative, autistic son has taught me. Those experiences helped me grow and embrace different artistic visions and methods to optimize creative communication.

I can’t wait to work in Melbourne, FL in this wonderful studio under the knowledge and continued mentorship of Tim Jarvis!
